Hope Lasts of Project Hulmahan

Project Hulmahan prepared a series of road shows within the metropolitan Manila, capital city of the Philippines

Captivating works of art that will never fail to enchant! An eclectic display of true-blue Filipino Artistry at its finest! More than 700 artists nationwide 1,000 unique shoe last artworks for sale to raise funds for food security, livelihood and art programs. Project Hulmahan was organized by Ladies Who Launch, spearheaded by Award-Winning International Actress, Dolly De Leon, Zena Bernardo, of Community Pantry, and others.

These artworks made out of abandoned wooden shoe lasts from shoe factories which shut down because of the pandemic are symbolic of how one can rise again like a phoenix amid the pandemic, of reliving the beautiful saga of a dying shoe capital, and of bringing hope to those who were affected by the shoe factory closures.

“Tiffany's Sky”and “Lucid Dreams” which are both Van Gogh-inspired pieces. I decided to give a 100% donation to charity out of the proceeds of my 2 artworks as part of my art brand Art Heals by Elizabeth Esguerra Castillo's advocacy and mission- to let Art be the catalyst and tool for healing humanity.

Project Hulmahan prepared a series of road shows within the metropolitan Manila, capital city of the Philippines and even in the provinces. It is the first ever exhibit of shoe lasts intricately-designed by Filipino artists from across the country. There is a powerful story behind each art piece. If you buy an art piece, you do not just buy a thing but you value the effort, the legacy, and will help preserve the beautiful history of the shoe lasts.
